Hotel Accommodations

The JournalCon DC Committee includes two individuals who routinely contract with the finest hotels in Washington, DC hotels in a professional capacity.  Kalamity manages events for a leading professional services firm and Russiagirl organizes tours and learning excursions for the federal government.  The personal and professional relationships that these individuals have were critical in getting substantially discounted group rates for sleeping and meeting rooms at the following locations.

A note about timing: the commitments we received from the hotels we contacted cover multiple weekends within the range of dates provided in the Call for Proposals. A final decision regarding the weekend that is selected for JournalCon DC will depend on many factors, including: input from likely attendees regarding preferences; other activities in Washington, DC; religious holidays in the US and Canada; and other negotiations regarding cost. However, it is understood that JournalCon DC will be held between August and November.
